September 2020 Pay It Forward - Foster Florida

For the month of September, Foster Florida is our  'pay it forward' campaign recipient.

Throughout Florida, over 20,000 children live in out-of-home care, a rate that is higher than the national average. In some areas of the state, an average as high as 15.7 children per month are removed from the homes of their biological families. These children need a safe place to land. They need strong families that will step into their time of need.

Bringing a new child into the home, especially a child from trauma, will require time for adjustment, loving, creating felt safety, and strengthening these family characteristics. Families can do this better when they have a system of care, from their local community and churches, supporting them.

For the ones neglected, the ones forgotten, the ones in need, we must step up. We meet the needs of our local foster families by providing four pillars of support: meals, prayer, financial support, and childcare.

Foster Florida also partners with local non-profits in a coordinated effort to provide holistic care to vulnerable populations.

January 2020 Pay It Forward - Southern Things for Little Wings

Two Way Radio Gear, Inc is proud announce that 'Southern Things for Little Wings Inc' is our January pay it forward campaign recipient. This non-profit was created after the terribly heartbreaking loss the Guettier family suffered following the birth of their twin boys. Tommy Hawkins Buchmeyer "Hawk" was born without a diaphragm and survived 20 days before he gained his angel wings. In his honor, 'Southern Things for Little Wings' was created as a non-profit meant to support families who are in the midst of their own troubling times.

Hawk's family spent seven weeks at The Ronald Mcdonald House in Gainseville, Florida. Two Way Radio Gear, Inc has given a $500 donation to this worthy cause in order to purchase target gift cards to give to the families who are currently residents of The Ronald Mcdonald House. We hope that this can help relieve some of the financial burden those families can face during difficult times. Our thoughts and prayers are with 'Southern Things for Little Wings' as they continue to bring support and relief to the families who are most deserving.
