Why Teams Choose Motorola SLR Repeaters

A Motorola repeater receives the signal from your two-way radios and rebroadcasts it at higher power from a better antenna position - extending range across buildings, campuses, and job sites and eliminating dead zones. Which Motorola Repeater Do I Need?

  • SLR1000 - spot coverage. Compact and low-power for filling dead zones inside a single building, basements, stairwells, or parking structures.
  • SLR5700 - the workhorse (50W). The most-deployed MOTOTRBO repeater; covers a typical campus, warehouse, or multi-floor facility. If you are not sure, start here.
  • SLR8000 - maximum range (100W). For wide-area coverage, multi-site IP linking, or high traffic across utilities, public safety, and large industrial sites.

Every repeater also needs a matching duplexer, antenna, and feedline to perform. Not sure what you need? Call 1-800-984-1534 and we will size the full system and quote it complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Motorola repeater do?
A repeater receives your radios' signals and re-transmits them at higher power from a better antenna location, dramatically extending range and eliminating dead zones across large or obstructed sites.

Do I need a repeater or just more radios?
If you have dead zones, thick concrete or steel construction, or congestion on busy channels, a repeater delivers a bigger, cleaner coverage footprint than adding handhelds alone.

What's the difference between the SLR1000, SLR5700, and SLR8000?
The SLR1000 is a compact low-power unit for filling small coverage gaps, the SLR5700 is a 50W workhorse for most business systems, and the SLR8000 is a 100W repeater for wide-area and multi-site networks.

Does the repeater include a duplexer and antenna?
A complete system also needs a matching duplexer, antenna, and feedline. Tell us your coverage area and frequency band and we'll quote the repeater with everything it needs to run.

Can I link repeaters across multiple sites?
Yes - MOTOTRBO repeaters support multi-site IP linking, so you can add sites and capacity over time without replacing your core system.

Are these genuine Motorola repeaters with a warranty?
Yes - every repeater is genuine Motorola Solutions equipment and includes the manufacturer warranty, plus US-based programming and support from our team.
