Can I mix display and non-display R5 radios?
Yes, with compatible band, mode and channel settings. A mixed fleet can give supervisors a display while keeping frontline operation simple.
Does R5 have a color screen?
No. The display model has a 1.5-inch monochrome screen and limited keypad.
Should I choose UHF or VHF?
Start with the frequency band and channel plan used by your existing system. UHF and VHF are separate hardware choices and cannot talk directly to each other. For a new system, ask us to review the building, outdoor areas and coverage requirements before choosing.
What comes with each portable radio?
Each radio includes one battery and one individual charger. Multipacks include individual chargers; a multi-unit charger is included only when the selected package specifies it. Check the exact pack contents before ordering.
Is programming included?
Radio programming is available at no charge. Tell us which existing radios and channel settings you need to match, and request programming when ordering. Programming cannot add unsupported hardware or system features.
