Radios for Utilities
Two-way radios for electric, water, wastewater, and gas utilities. This lineup covers the four places utility communication actually happens: line and field crews spread across a service territory, substation and plant work in high noise, vehicles and trucks that need power and a roof antenna, and the control room that has to reach all of them.
Utilities are the most coverage-driven buyer we work with. Where crews range across a wide territory, LTE push-to-talk radios on WAVE PTX reach them anywhere carrier coverage does. Where work is concentrated on a plant or yard, rugged digital portables deliver better audio in noise. Most utilities run both.
Note: these radios are not intrinsically safe. Classified hazardous locations, including Division 1 and Division 2 gas distribution work, require an intrinsically safe rated radio. Radios are not arc-flash protection, not a lockout/tagout control, and not a monitored lone-worker system.
