A short time ago, at the age of 25, a local mom in our community, Nia, was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. A young mother of a 5 year old daughter Ava, Nia was also pregnant with her second child, due Jan 2022. Nia started chemo during her pregnancy, which allowed treatment to start right away while keeping her unborn child safe. Nia’s mother Felicia had to quit her job in order to focus full time on the care of her sick daughter and grandchildren. On Nov 17th 2021, after chemo treatment, Nia was rushed for an emergency c-section and her son Vincenzo was born 8 weeks premature, weighing in at 4lbs 14oz. The blessing of this health baby lifted the broken spirits of Nia and her family during this extremely trying time.
